Macau - Sights, Adrenalin, Casinos

(English version below)

Macau is usually a day trip from Hong Kong with a relatively short stay time in the usual itinerary. I at least spent a night there and could therefore spend a whole day there. Or better: I could have spent a full day if I had planned the transfer with the ferry a little better. I got up early to be at the harbor at time, but the timing was off because my hotel luxury hotel is situated on the southern island and the ferries only go there every hour – obviously one just left when I got my ticket.

Finally arrived, I spent the extremely hot afternoon following the Lonely Planet walking tour at a very slow pace. The route was nice, leading through a big part of the northern peninsula along some historical buildings and squares.

At the end of the route I added a part of another walking tour from a local tourist map and ended up at the TV tower… After having backed out at the Victoria Falls, I fell for the offer of doing the bungee jump – well, it’s at least the world’s highest! Down it goes for 233 meters…
Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures from the jump itself (the trip to Macao with the luxury hotel and the jump itself have already been very expensive by itself), but the Skywalk as a combo was an offer one cannot reject. It was worthwhile going in the evening, so that the Skywalk was during sunset and the jump into the dawn of light-awaking Macao.

After the excursion to the tower I wandered through the nightly streets with its bright casino lights, visited one from the inside (but didn’t play because the minimum bet for a round of Black Jack was 2000 HK$) and enjoyed a meal at the Hard Rock Café. The following day was meant to ultimately say goodbye to China and welcoming Bangkok…
